Indoor 3D Mapping & Augmented Reality Market Report

In Feb 2014, Google announced its ground-breaking Project Tango as part of its Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) hardware group. Tango is Google's next-generation 3D mapping tool that will revolutionize the indoor mapping and the indoor location industry. Google envisions the following examples: “What if you never found yourself lost in a new building again? What if directions to a new location didn’t stop at the street address?” We say, imagine wearing Google Glass and be able to visualize indoor navigation in real 3D!

In addition to Google, this 30 page report features 20 companies that are also doing indoor 3D mapping and Augmented Reality. What used to be a government and military niche (NASA, DARPA) is now becoming main stream and commercial thanks to Google and these other companies.
