Nokia vs Insiteo Indoor Navigation

Nokia indoor navigation relies on positioning beacons resulting in 30cm accuracy. Although Nokia says that they are “low-cost”, the dependency remains for deploying additional infrastructure. The advantage of this beacon approach is that the device knows when user transfers from outdoors to inside of the building, enabling the user experience to seamlessly transfer from outdoor navigation to, for example, terminal navigation inside an airport. Nokia/Navteq already have indoor maps of malls and airports, hence, indoor location and navigation is a natural progression.

Insiteo uses WiFi infrastructure and special algorithms to process the WiFi signal captured by the phone
Advantages: Fast deployment, no extra equipment needed in sites if existing WiFi density suffices.
